Local lists, one editor per city.
Not
that one.
Every city has a street where nobody local eats.
What the guidebook says
- Heineken ExperienceBrouwerij 't IJA working brewery under a windmill, with a terrace the neighbourhood actually sits on.
- Coffeeshops in the Red Light DistrictLot Sixty One, WestCoffee. Just coffee. Roasted on the corner, full of people who work there.
- The cheese museumSterk StaaltjeAn actual delicatessen, where people do their actual shopping.
- Canal cruise with audio guideThe free ferry to NoordFree, every few minutes, with bikes and commuters on board.
- BloemenmarktNoordermarkt, SaturdayWhere the city buys its own flowers and farmhouse cheese.
One person per city keeps the lists. No stars, no ranking by popularity — popularity is what makes a tourist trap in the first place.
How this works
A guide is only as good as the person who wrote it. So we put one name on each city and nothing else.
One editor per city
Not a crowd, not a score. A named person who lives there and answers for the list.
No reviews, no stars
Ranking by popularity is exactly how a good place turns into a queue of strangers.
Left off on purpose
What is missing is the point. The famous street is famous enough already.
